Know that the 5 second rule is just the push you need to start the journey, to reach the goal you need to face many more challenges. You will need to gain knowledge, practice and experience, but at the end of the road you will accomplish what you deserve.

It is infact the small moves that determine the direction of our life. When we are about to do something difficult, scary or uncertain, the mind hesitates and we lose our momentum. When we stop to think, we might just decide to ignore the task, and as these thing repeats it forms the habit

It Is Not The Big Moves

When dealing with tasks, which I don't FEEL like doing, I just mentally count from 5 to 1, but I start to make the move before the count reach 1. For me, when the count reaches 1, I have lost the opportunity. If I can, I will start counting again and head to the challenge.

How To Use The Rule

You miss a lot in your life when you think more than you act. I personally divide when to use the rule. I classify task as:<ul><li>Things I must do</li><li>Things I can do</li></ul>

When To Use The Rule

It Can be health related, career related, like Eating over the calorie limit, doing the work on project before deadline hits, You don't feel like it, use the rule

Things I must do

To take on those tasks outside your comfort zone you need a push or courage to get started. As you take on more challenges, you start to grow, your comfort zone also grows. The task you seemed almost impossible to you are easy to you.So, those small tasks filled with courage you took, increases your comfort zone, and so does your confidence.In Author's bookThe world rewards those who are courageous enough to stop waiting and start.Waiting, thinking, and “almost doing it” don’t count.

Confidence Is Not A Trait It's A Skill You Can Build

With 5 second rule you will be able to start what you want to do with our unnecessary thoughts. It helps to take the first step towards our goal which is often difficult. But it is equally important to know what next to do.Failing to result should not discourage you and trying is the most important.

Using The 5 Second Rule

The comfort zone is what the name says, it's the zone where you are the most comfortable at and outside the comfort zone is where the growth happens, where the task are easy to do, your mind makes it feel difficult to do so.

The Idea Of Comfort Zone

Facing the challenge and doing what you really wanted to avoid needs courage. Everybody feels scared, unsure and uncomfortable at some point. The only way we are moving ahead in life is through courage.

Courage

These are simple tasks that usually dont influence your life in big way or don't align with your goal but you can do it anyway.It can be saying hello to the stranger that might seem unapproachable at first. Use the rule, and you might come to realize that it is the person is super friendly and it was your mind that was preventing you from it.You go against what your mind tell you, you face the challenge, you perform an act of courage and get rewarded for it
