Being the Grandson of Prahlad, he went on to become the biggest devotee of Lord Vishnu. He had a huge affinity towards power of expansion which led him to rule the entire Prithvi Lok (Earth). People of Swarg Lok and Patal Lok began to fear over the Demon King's reign. Lord Indra in fear requested Lord Vishnu to look into it.

King Bali 

As King Bali was follower of him, Lord Vishnu went in a simple peace way, he took the form of a tiny, cute and flourished little Brahman Dwarf named Vamana. The aesthetic appearance made the people delusioned within the bond. Then Dwarf met the King Bali, as being a Brahman the King ask to fulfill any of his wish.

Birth Of The Brahman Dwarf

Vamana stated that he needed a only 3 steps of land of his foot. The King urged to ask more. Vamana answered, " I have asked what was necessary and pleasurable to me. Wanting for more would never eliminate my thirst."

Wish

If am not satisfied with the 3 steps of land, I will not be satisfied even with the whole universe. If I acquire 1, with legitimate power I will have to place two shunya (zeros) and make it 100 to fulfill my pleasure. But, those two shunya's represent greed and selfishness.

Theory Of Vamana

Scratching the words over the brain, Shukracharya ( Master of Asuras) realized that the dwarf is actually Lord Vishnu. As soon as the master realized it, he began to hoax the King to not fulfill any of his wish, but he had made his promise with Vamana.

Reveleation 

Vamana then began to grow as stupendous as to cover all of the livings elements of Pruthvi Lok (Earth) just under his feet. On his first step he covered the Prithvi Lok, on second he towered his foot upto Swarg Lok covering it. Else for the third step nothing was left.The King feeling defeated placed Vamana foot on his head as a mark of defeat and understood Lord Vishnu's purpose for his reincarnation.

Vamana Avatar - Fifth Avatar Of Vishnu | Dashavatar

Hirankashyap was the most cruel demon the world would have ever witnessed. As his brother Hiranyaksha was killed by the Varaha (3rd avatar of Vishnu), he had a deep enemity towards Lord Vishnu.

Vengeance Of Hiranyakashyap

Hiranyakashyap splashed the blood of all major precious life forms on earth on his axe. With a thought that Lord Vishnu might appear to battle with him for his deeds.

Impact

Prahlad was born to Kayadhu, who was the wife of Hiranyakashyap. Being inside the womb of his mother, was pledged with divine qualities which were the teachings and learnings of Lord Vishnu.Unlike his father, the kid grew out to be a bright devotee of equality and pure wisdom.

Prahlad - Son Of Hiranyakashyap

Like Hiranyaksha, his brother achieved a different & unique boon from Lord Brahma which stated that no human or animal, even in a day or a night, not on the land or the sky, not inside or outside and not any weapon could kill him.

Boon Of Lord Brahma

Hiranyakashyap tempered by the fact that his son is a follower of his biggest enemy. He became so raged that he tried to kill his son by throwing him off the edge of the mountain, dropping noxious snakes and also choking him in the water but nothing worked all along.

Efforts For The Death Of Prahlad

Gravitised in rage he asked his son if his Master does exist where is his Master. The son calmly replied, " He is just everywhere". The king angrily showed the pillar and unintentionally destroyed it, but he was totally astonished to see the presence of a lion-faced, fierced-nailed divine spirit named Narasimha.

Legendary Appearance Of Narasimha 

The Avatar took the demon on his lap and pierced his stomach with his ferocious nails. The death defeated the boon as :Demon was killed at the time of dusk not a day or a night, placed on the lap not even land or sky, defeated by a half lion half human, happened to be at the threshold of palace not inside or outside, more of a part here the nails were used to kill, rather than any weapon.

Strategical Death Of Hiranyakashyap 

Narasimha Avatar - Fourth Avatar Of Vishnu | Dashavatar Hiranyakashyap was the brother of Hiranyaksha who was killed by the second avatar of Vishnu, the Varaha avatar. When he saw that Hiranyaksha had been killed by Vishnu he swore vengeance. He meditated to Lord Brahma and because of his severe penance, he asked his boon to be that he would not die during the day or the night; on land, at sea or in the sky; inside or outside; by the hands of human or beast; or by any weapon. Brahma granted him his wish. Now, he thought, he was immortal. Having obtained the boon, he considered himself the supreme God and forbade all worship of Gods by anyone. In due course Hiranyakashyap had a son. His name was Prahlad. When Prahlad was born to Hiranyakashyap's wife - Kayadhu, the demon was in the Himalayas doing intense penance to please Lord Brahma for obtaining his boon. Interestingly Prahlad was destined to take birth at the humble abode of Devarshi Narada Muni, and none other than Goddess Yogmaya helped Kayadhu deliver her baby. Therefore, Prahald was always surrounded by sages who preached him the greatness of Vishnu. Prahlad grew up to be a great devotee and had the blessings of Lord Vishnu and the Gods even when he was in his mother's womb. Hence, despite being the son of an Asura, the boy turned out to be quite different from his father and exhibited divine qualities. Unable to tolerate a member of his family worshipping his mortal enemy, he decided to kill his own son. But it was not easy. He gave him to his soldiers to execute, but they couldn’t do it. He tried throwing him off a cliff, crushing him beneath an elephant, putting him amongst venomous snakes and poisoning his food. Nothing would work. During a particular attempt on Prahlad's life, King Hiranyakashyap called upon his sister Holika for help. Holika had a special cloak garment that prevented her from being harmed by fire. Hiranyakashyap asked her to sit on a bonfire with Prahlad, by tricking the boy to sit on her lap. However, as the fire roared, the garment flew from Holika and covered Prahlad. Holika burnt to death, Prahlad came out unharmed. Prahlad’s life was always protected by some supernatural force. “Where is this Vishnu of yours! Let me see him so that I can kill him!” “He’s everywhere!” replied Prahlad. “Then he’s in this pillar,” cried the demon, and rushing at a nearby pillar of the palace struck it a terrible blow. At that moment a fearful sound came from the pillar, as if the universe itself was about to split apart. All who heard it were afraid. The pillar burst asunder and a terrifying form emerged from it – with the head of a lion and the body of a man. This was Narasimha, the man-lion incarnation of Vishnu, who had come to protect his devotee, Prahlad. Hiranyakashyap tried to attack him, as an insect flies into a fire. Narasimha Avatar - Fourth Avatar Of Vishnu | Dashavatar

The demon appeared like a powerful grandiose creature skyscrapping itself till end of the sky, blocking the winds, rays of the Sun. Easy to catch anybody's attention even in the three lokas. He is said to have stolen the significant spiritual knowledge of Vedas and Holy Writings from the Lord Brahma when he was asleep.

Hiranyaksha - The Emperor

The Hiranyaksha in his endless greed tried to capture all the significant resources of earth, he started mining and quarrelling the earth. As nobody to stop him, the Mother Earth became weak and baseless, fell to the bottom of the universe - primeval waters.

The Fall

Lord Vishnu transformed itself as a beautiful boar Varaha. Initiated just as a miniaturous form, it carried the earth from the bottom of the primeval waters on its tusks, till it grew big until reaching upto heavens.Apart from the genuine ugliness of the boar which we look, Varaha was one of the most mastered and empathic creation of the universe with the 2 golden tusks and lustre-pearl eyes.

Arrival Of The Saviour

The reason for this type of reincaranation was the boon which Lord Brahma gave to the demon Hiranyaksha, stating that no human, beast or God would able to defeat him.Varaha fought with the demon, defeating and acquiring the gem consisting of the Vedas Knowledge and giving it back to the Lord Brahma.

Restoring The Balance Of The Earth

Varaha Avatar - Third Avatar Of Vishnu Hiranyaksha was the first and greatest demon that ever walked this earth. He wore golden anklets, a golden girdle, golden bracelets on his arms, golden armour and a crown of gold. To obtain this gold he mined the earth. He considered the earth as his property to do with as he wished, and so he mined her deeper and deeper – so deep that Mother Earth lost her inner balance and fell from her position in space. Plunging to the depths she came to rest in the primeval waters which lie at the very bottom of the universe. There she lay, lost and helpless in the darkness. Varaha had a boon from Lord Brahma that no beast, nor man, nor god could kill him. Vishnu saw the distress of the earth planet as she was lying in the dark ocean. So, Vishnu took the form of a gigantic boar, Varaha, and entered the universe to rescue the earth from the deep. It is said that he first appeared in a tiny form no larger than a thumb, and steadily grew until he seemed to fill the heavens. Although a boar is normally considered to be an ugly animal, Varaha was most beautiful. All the demigods and sages sung his glories as he dived into the ocean to rescue Earth. Meanwhile Hiranyaksha, not caring for the earth’s predicament, roamed about restlessly looking for someone with whom to do battle. As Varaha was picking up the earth on his tusks, the angry demon came upon him and eagerly challenged him to fight. He pushed the Earth to the Pataal loka, or the under of the sea. He stole the Vedas, the holy scriptures from the Lord Brahma, while he was asleep and performed huge atrocities. There was a great battle, fought for the sake of the Earth, in which the demon finally lost his life. Varaha Avatar - Third Avatar Of Vishnu

This king lived with the power & philosophy of saving every single living creation on earth. The king once alongside a river got a tiny fish, which urged him to not send him back to river for the fear of being eaten by the predators.

King Satyavrata (Manu)

The king agreed and took it to the palace, but he didn't know that it was Lord Vishnu in the form of a fish. As they reached the palace the fish's size grew to the astonishment of the king. The more bigger the vessel the more is its grandiose size.

Lord Vishnu As Matya

The fish was transferred from a pot to vessel to pond. The fish seems to have no end with its figure. Finally the king then essenced the divine spirit and apologised to the Matysa. Then the Matsya revealed itself as Lord Vishnu.

Revelation

Matsya announced that after 7 days the world will collapse under the ocean, so Satyavrata was told to gather the Seven Rishis along with all forms of life present in the atmosphere.

Order Of Destruction

Gigantic Clouds begin to appear, started to shower with all of its enemity. Vasuki (the Snake) towed the boat along with the king, Seven Rishis and Lord Vishnu. The whole world entered a stage of complete silence and doom state for countless days.

Wrath Of Chaos

Peace started to restore and balance awakened itself to heal the planet. This was also the golden period when Lord Vishnu gave the gemifying spiritual knowledge of Vedas to the Seven Rishis, which gave a different adherence of divine spirituality to the world. Hence the Satyavrata and the Seven Rishis became the first humans to define the new era.

Dawn Of Revolution 

Matsya Avatar - The First Avatar Of Vishnu Matsya, the first avatar of Vishnu, is in the form of a fish. Vishnu took the form of Matysa to rescue the Manu, the first man as per the Hindu epics from a huge destruction. Once King Satyavrata (the real name of ‘Manu’) was performing a sacred ceremony besides a river. While scooping in some water from the river to offer to Surya, the Sun God, he accidentally caught a tiny fish in the palm of his hand. Satyavrata was ready to release the fish back into the water, but the fish requested otherwise. The tiny fish begged him not to throw it back into the river as the river had bigger fishes that would prey upon it. To save itself from other predators of the sea, the fish requested the King to take it along with him to his palace, convincing him that his palace would be safe and big enough to accommodate a small fish. King Satyavrata took pity on the little fish and took it with himself to his palace. Upon reaching there, he put the fish in a small bowl. The King was happy and satisfied that he was able to save the life of this little being. The next morning Satyavrata came to check on the fish and was surprised to see that the tiny fish he had brought with him had grown large enough to fill the entire pot. This time the King transferred the fish to the largest lake of his Kingdom, but in no time the fish outgrew the lake too. The King had no other option but to drop the fish into the ocean from where he originally rescued it. He apologized to the fish that despite being a King he could not save her or provide enough to ensure her survival. As the fish was dropped into the ocean, its size knew no bounds. It grew beyond what Satyavrata eyes could see. At this point, Satyavrata concluded that this was no ordinary animal, but it had to be a divine appearance of God. Remembering the words of Matsya, Satyavrata onboarded the Seven Rishis, animals, all his belongings and himself on the boat, finding some safety. Soon Matsya appeared there with the snakkue Vasuki. Vasuki tied itself to the boat on side and held on to the horns of Matsya on the other side. Matsya with the help of Vasuki towed the boat across the waters of devastation. For countless days, darkness covered the world and they wandered across the stormy ocean waiting for the water to subside. During their journey and days of patience, Vishnu in the form of Matsya preached King Satyavrata and the seven sages the spiritual knowledge of the Vedas. Thus, Vishnu – The Preserver from the holy Trinity, was able to save mankind and brought them into the new era, the beginning of Satya Yuga. Matsya Avatar - The First Avatar Of Vishnu

Matsya, the first avatar of Vishnu, is in the form of a fish. Vishnu took the form of Matysa to rescue the Manu, the first man as per the Hindu epics from a huge destruction.

 Once King Satyavrata (the real name of ‘Manu’) was performing a sacred ceremony besides a river. While scooping in some water from the river to offer to Surya, the Sun God, he accidentally caught a tiny fish in the palm of his hand. Satyavrata was ready to release the fish back into the water, but the fish requested otherwise. The tiny fish begged him not to throw it back into the river as the river had bigger fishes that would prey upon it. To save itself from other predators of the sea, the fish requested the King to take it along with him to his palace, convincing him that his palace would be safe and big enough to accommodate a small fish. King Satyavrata took pity on the little fish and took it with himself to his palace. Upon reaching there, he put the fish in a small bowl. The King was happy and satisfied that he was able to save the life of this little being. The next morning Satyavrata came to check on the fish and was surprised to see that the tiny fish he had brought with him had grown large enough to fill the entire pot. This time the King transferred the fish to the largest lake of his Kingdom, but in no time the fish outgrew the lake too. The King had no other option but to drop the fish into the ocean from where he originally rescued it. He apologized to the fish that despite being a King he could not save her or provide enough to ensure her survival. As the fish was dropped into the ocean, its size knew no bounds. The suffering the Buddha spoke of included people’s longing for pleasure and the knowledge that one day everyone will be parted from their loved ones. It included the fact that the wonders of life end in death.The Buddha called this suffering dukkha. Human beings are like a dog, he said, tied to a post and unable to escape, forever pulling at the rope. He called this trap of suffering the wheel of samsara, or the cycle of life and death.

There is more to life than increasing its speed.

It is a Western disease to make time finite, and then impose speed on all aspects of life.Despite what people think, the discussion about speed is never really about the current state of technology. It goes much deeper than that, it goes back to the human desire for transcendence … It’s hard to think about the fact that we’re going to die; it’s unpleasant, so we constantly seek ways to distract ourselves from the awareness of our own mortality. The Problem With Speed

Reading implies time for reflection, a slowing-down that destroys the mass’s dynamic efficiency.

The world is still straining to do everything faster—and paying a heavy price for it. The toll taken by the hurry-up culture is well documented. We are driving the planet and ourselves towards burnout. We are so time-poor and time-sick that we neglect our friends, families and partners. We barely know how to enjoy things any more because we are always looking ahead to the next thing. Much of the food we eat is bland and unhealthy. With our children caught up in the same hailstorm of hurry, the future looks bleak.

The World Is Speeding Up

All the things that bind us together and make life worth living—community, family, friendship—thrive on the one thing we never have enough of: Time.Time is getting away, that there isn’t enough of it, and you must pedal faster and faster to keep up. These days, the whole world is time-sick. We all belong to the same cult of speed.Time-sickness can also be a symptom of a deeper, existential malaise. In the final stages before burnout, people often speed up to avoid confronting their unhappiness.

Inevitably, a life of hurry can become superficial. When we rush, we skim the surface, and fail to make real connections with the world or other people.We have forgotten how to look forward to things, and how to enjoy the moment when they arrive.In this social media-drenched, data-rich, computer-gaming age, we have lost the art of doing nothing, of shutting out the background noise and distractions, of slowing down and simply being alone with our thoughts.

A Superficial Life

If we are ever going to slow down, we must understand why we accelerated in the first place, why the world got so revved up, so tightly scheduled. And to do that, we need to start at the very beginning, by looking at our relationship with time itself. Ancient civilizations used calendars to work out when to plant and harvest crops. Right from the start, though, timekeeping proved to be a double-edged sword. On the upside, scheduling can make anyone, from peasant farmer to software engineer, more efficient. Soon enough, the tables turn, and time takes over. We become slaves to the schedule.

Our Relationship With Time

As the clock tightened its grip and technology made it possible to do everything more quickly, hurry and haste seeped into every corner of life. People were expected to think faster, work faster, talk faster, read faster, write faster, eat faster, and move faster.The result is a gnawing disconnect between what we want from life and what we can realistically have, which feeds the sense that there is never enough time.

The Clock

Part of the problem may lie in the way we think about time itself. In Chinese, Hindu and Buddhist traditions, time is cyclical. On Canada’s Baffin Island, the Inuit use the same word—uvatiarru—to mean both ‘in the distant past’ and ‘in the distant future.’ The Hindu word kal means both yesterday and tomorrow.Time, in such cultures, is always coming as well as going. It is constantly around us, renewing itself, like the air we breathe.In the Western tradition, time is linear, an arrow flying remorselessly from A to B. It is a finite, and therefore precious, resource.

Time Is Actually Cyclical

Fast and Slow do more than just describe a rate of change.  Fast is busy, controlling, aggressive, hurried, analytical, stressed, superficial, impatient and jumpy.Slow is the opposite: calm, careful, receptive, still, intuitive, unhurried, patient, reflective, quality-over-quantity. It is about making real and meaningful connections—with people, culture, work, food, everything. The paradox is that Slow does not always mean slow. As we shall see, performing a task in a Slow manner often yields faster results. It is also possible to do things quickly while maintaining a Slow frame of mind.

The Two Different Frame Rates Of Life

Speed has helped to remake our world in ways that are wonderful and liberating. Who wants to live without the Internet or jet travel? The problem is that our love of speed, our obsession with doing more and more in less and less time, has gone too far; it has turned into an addiction, a kind of idolatry.  Falling behind at work? Get a quicker Internet connection. No time for that novel you got at Christmas? Learn to speed-read. Diet not working? Try liposuction. Too busy to cook? Buy a microwave. And yet some things cannot, should not, be sped up. They take time; they need slowness.

The Addiction Of Speed

When you accelerate things that should not be accelerated, when you forget how to slow down, there is a price to pay.

Instead of doing everything faster, many people are decelerating, and finding that Slowness helps them to live, work, think and play better. But is the Slow movement really a movement? It certainly has all the ingredients that academics look for—popular sympathy, a blueprint for a new way of life, grassroots action. True, the Slow movement has no formal structure and still suffers from low brand recognition. Many people slow down—working fewer hours, say, or finding time to cook—without feeling part of a global crusade. Yet every act of deceleration is grist to the mill.

Put Your Feet Off The Gas

Many recommend doing fewer things in order to do them better, a core tenet of the Slow philosophy … The twenty-four-hour society is not intrinsically evil. If we approach it in a Slow spirit—doing fewer things, with less hurry—it can give us the flexibility we need to decelerate … Slower, it turns out, often means better—better health, better work, better business, better family life, better exercise, better cuisine and better sex.

Less But Better

The Slow movement is still taking shape. It has no central headquarters or website, no single leader, and no political party to carry its message. Many people decide to slow down without ever feeling part of a cultural trend, let alone a global crusade. What matters, though, is that a growing minority is choosing slowness over speed. Every act of deceleration gives another push to the Slow movement.

The Invisible Movement

To roll back the fast-food tsunami sweeping across the planet, Carlo Petrini, a charismatic culinary writer, launched Slow Food. As the name suggests, the movement stands for everything that McDonald’s does not: fresh, local, seasonal produce; recipes handed down through the generations; sustainable farming; artisanal production; leisurely dining with family and friends. Slow Food also preaches ‘eco-gastronomy’—the notion that eating well can, and should, go hand in hand with protecting the environment.

Many find that slowing down has a spiritual dimension. But many others do not. The Slow movement is broad enough to accommodate both. Some call that living better. Others would describe it as spiritual.

In the war against the cult of speed, the front line is inside our heads. Acceleration will remain our default setting until attitudes change. But changing what we think is just the beginning. If the Slow movement is really to take root, we have to go deeper. We have to change the way we think.

Work Less And Avoid Burnout At The Office

People who cut their work hours often take a smaller hit financially than they expect. That is because spending less time on the job means spending less money on the things that allow us to work: transport, parking, eating out, coffee, convenience food, childcare, laundry, retail therapy. A smaller income also translates into a smaller tax bill.
