I'm sure it has happened with you, when you're late for work/study and everything just happens to slow you down.The train? Late.The bus? Late.You? Obviously, you're the one responsible. We feel everything's wasting our precious moments and are out to get us. But if we just pause for a bit from the chaotic loop in our minds, it dawns upon us that we're the ones rushing. Nobody is our enemy and nobody's out there to execute us.This might also make us feel that our luck is like rotten bananas, and it always happens to us and as if we're battling the world with no armour on.

We honestly suck (sometimes)

And cause you're stuck in this black hole of negative emotions, you might miss that everything is actually working out. It's as if God's saying, Oh you got up late? Don't worry I got you.And because we're in this rush and adrenaline spiking through us (I don't know which brain chemical), we think that the bus and train and whatever is the one who isn't on time. When in reality, it came pretty early than it usually does. Same for opposite? When we're not under pressure, our minds work autopilot, and that's the reason we don't realize that everything's going smoothly. Cause we're used to this.

And that's why we turn blind

We have the audactiy to question God on why he keeps testing us. But have we just taken a moment out to thank him when everything's just sliding like melted butter?And that we even noticed it in the first place?We got late, and apparently everything else did too. We blame God and every other thing we can.We're in our own lalaland when the day started well, and did you realize that everything around us is just clicking into place? And because it's going so smoothly and without any problems, we think it's us who's credible for it and not the God we always blame everything else for.

The hypocrisy guys

Tell me, why don't we ever just get the thought that today went well and there might be someone behind it? As there is always someone or the other behind the misfortunes. It's because we're so full of complains and we never focus on what's actually benefitting us. That one bad event weighs us down and distracts us from all the good things that came out of it. And that's the reason we should journal down one thing we're grateful for everyday. Cause then we start living and not existing. We turn into someone and not just a lost soul. Ps: I put the owl there cause it looked cute.

Coming back from Uni is a mix of emotions. You're happy cause of course, you're finally free and you're hangry. Dead hangry. You could devour a person whole. So as soon as I walk out, I am greeted by vendors and mocked by street food, cause obviously I'm not going to buy. I have some principles in life, after all. I follow whatever I say. No unhealthy food, no food coated with pollution no matter how tasty it is and also that I'm broke.Anyway, so what I do to 'discipline' my mind is I purposely get attracted to those delicious foods. Make myself imagine their heavenly taste in my mouth.

A trick to being discipline that no one talks about (that's why I'm typing and not talking)

Take their aroma in and make myself all the more hungry. So I tricked my brain that was trying to trick me into buying it. That's not it. After craving that food so much (especially with my stomach having null contents), I tell myself no, means no. And then with me gaslighting myself, I do not eat that food. Resulting in built up discipline and willpower. Cause if you didn't give in to the craving, you built more power..But you built additional power, by making yourself wanting that thing more and then not having it. I hope that makes sense.

Okay. So on a very fine evening, I went cycling. BAD IDEA.Why?Cause the whole world decided to mark their attendance on the roads. Of course. Looking at how I'll have to keep pedalling and pressing the breaks simultaneously, taking the shortcut seemed like my best option.BAD IDEA AGAIN.Well, because that lane had more potholes (and water innit) than concrete. And that's when this genius idea struck (it isn't genius or an idea, just self-reflection). Even though continuously moving forward, I was threatened to fall again and again because of my slow speed. And that's when I was reminded-

Your life cycle needs gears

reminded of the famous quote that always advised that life was a cycle and you had to keep pedalling or you'll fall (even though cycles have stands. Guess you can't fight with a metaphor after all). But here I was still in danger of falling. Even while moving. And this is the reason, humans (finally getting to the point), I think that your cycles need gears. To move faster. Cause a problem might arise even after you're just done dealing with one. And it's not waiting.And those gears could be your family, friends, yourself too actually if you decide to heal.

Potholes and how people would hug the ground due to them

An idea on how to actually change (not yourself. But parts of yourself ) is a bit rich coming from someone like me (no comments).Literally.A few years ago, I used to do one thing and think that I've achieved a milestone. It was an excuse for myself to forget reality and dive right into the vast world of entertainment. And also so that my mom won't scold me.Fast forwarding, I've realized a few things:<ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Change can start on an odd date/month/whatever.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Not being able to complete everything you planned for a specific day is not failure.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">It takes effort.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">It gets easy as you keep fighting. Who? Yourself.</li></ol>

The intro took up all my space.So, yeah, what did I do to change?First off remove everything. Every damn task that doesn't matter at this point in life and you can do without it. Keep your daily goals minimal.Use productivity apps. Can't stress on this point enough. Apps like (not sponsored. Hope they were. Anyway,) Notion, Todoist, Timers on social media, have as if grabbed hold of me (was swinging on a thin rope) and put me in a cozy cabin. And told me to just get the thing done and that they'll do the rest.Wake up early. That's it. No lecture on this.For now do this, I'll be back with more.
